The headlamp is a 3Watt high power led integrated into the stem. This is a high and well visible position on the bike and by integrating the lamp a vulnerable part of the bike is eliminated. The taillight is integrated in the rear fender; it has 9 LEDs that shine not only straight to the rear but also to the sides. The strong plastic lens on the taillight protects the LEDs and redirects the light beams backwards instead of towards the planes and stars in the sky. An extra set of LEDs are put in the ends of the handlebars as this makes the bicycle in the dark optically wider, so cars are more likely to give room to the cyclist.
